This week, the Sudan Chess Federation hosted the 25th National Chess Championship in the Sudanese Youth city in Suba province of Khartoum State.
118 players from all States compete in this tournament with each other for the qualification for the African Games. So far, Sudan had eleven chess players in international competitions. Chess started as a National Sport in Sudan in 1971. Today, Sudan is on its way to one of the leading chess nations in Africa.
